AdverCal is a three-person web studio in Southern California. We build sites for small businesses, academics and freelancers, then check on them every month.

Most sites are a mix of these. Some need one page; some need ten.

Notes in, site out

You send what you have, in any shape. We turn it into one clear site, and you see every page before anyone else does.

  1. ListenA short questionnaire, a call if you like, and a look at what you already have: an old site, a menu, a CV, photos.
  2. BuildWe write and design the site and send you a private preview. You ask for changes and we make them.
  3. LaunchEvery page passes our security check before it goes live, on your own address.

What every site gets

Every site loads fast on a phone , lives on an address you own, and sends visitors straight to your booking page .

No page builders and no plugins to keep patched. Plain, fast pages that keep working on their own.

Checked every month

On the first of each month we check every site we look after and send its owner a short report in plain words: what is fine, what changed, and what we are fixing.

  • Security, before and after every change
  • How it looks on six screen sizes, phone to desktop
  • Accessibility, so everyone can read it
  • Speed, measured on a phone
  • Search: titles, descriptions, sharing previews
  • Broken links and out-of-date details

Three people
Work for
Businesses, academics, freelancers

We are Saman Khadivar, Jeevan Karandikar and Sohan Lele. We keep the studio small on purpose: the people you talk to are the people who build your site, and no change goes out until a second one of us has checked it.

With every site

  • Copy written with you
  • A private preview before launch
  • Rounds of changes until it is right
  • A security check before it goes live
  • Set up on your own domain
  • Built to work on any phone

With monthly care

  • A health check on the first of the month
  • A plain-language report by email
  • Fixes for what the check finds
  • Small text and photo updates
  • One email address for anything

Questions we hear

What does a site cost?

It depends on how many pages you need and what they have to do. Tell us about your project and we will send a written quote before any work starts.

How long does it take?

Most sites take about a week once we have your words and photos. A bigger site, or one that needs writing from scratch, takes longer, and we tell you the date up front.

Who owns the site?

You do. We publish it on your own domain and, wherever we can, under your own account, so it keeps running even if you stop working with us.

Can people book with me through the site?

Yes. If you already use a booking service such as OpenTable, Square or Calendly, we add a clear button that takes visitors straight to it.

Can you redo the site I already have?

Yes. We start from what is there, keep what works, and rebuild the rest. Your address stays the same.

What happens after launch?

With monthly care we check the site on the first of every month, fix what we find and send you the report. Without it, you can still email us whenever you need a change.

Tell us what you need

Pick what fits and we will write the email for you. Nothing is sent until you press send in your own mail app.
